Team Oreca Matmut’s Peugeot 908 HDi FAP driven by Nicolas Lapierre and Olivier Panis has won the 1000 Km of Algarve, in Portimao, Portugal. The Peugeot 908 was followed by Rebellion Racing’s Lola Rebellion and Signature’s Lola Aston Martin. First in LMP2 was RML’s Lola HPD followed by Team Bruichladdich’s Ginetta-Zytek 09S and Dams’ Oreca 09, [...] Oreca announced today that Stephane Sarrazin will be joining the team for the remainder of the Le Mans Series season. Sarrazin will share the seat of Oreca’s Peugeot 908 HDi FAP with Olivier Panis and Nicolas Lapierre. Sarrazin is currently second in the Le Mans Series drivers classification, following McNish and Capello who share [...] The Le Mans Series tests at Paul Ricard HTTT are now over and Oreca was the fastest around team around the track. If you’re interested in numbers you can get all test results from the Le Man Series official web site. The official Le Mans Series tests have started today at Paul Ricard HTTT in Le Castellet. Both the morning and afternoon sessions have been clearly dominated by Team Oreca-Matmut, followed by Rebellion Racing and Beechdean Mansell and Aston Martin Racing. Have a look at the official morning and afternoon timing sheets. Remember the video Team Oreca shot when they received their 908 HDi FAP, and it was all black and unmarked? Well that changed. Oreca have posted a press release showing their Peugeot 908 wearing its official paint work. Team Oreca will race the the 908 in the Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of [...] Spyker Squadron have announced they will honor the invitation they have received from the A. C. O. to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010. Spyker will enter the event with one Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R, which will be driven by Peter Dumbreck, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Tom Coronel. It’s an appealing race to watch because of its interesting [...] Silverstone based Strakka Racing announced a new partnership with Honda Performance Development which resulted in plans to race an Acura ARX-01b in the 2010 Le Mans Series. The Acura ARX-01b is the same LMP2 prototype Adrian Fernandez used this year to win the LMP2 class of the American Le Mans Series . IMSA, the American Le Mans Series sanctioning body, has issued regulations for the upcoming 2010 season. The updates focus on safety, performance, the points attribution system and the display of the series logo and the leader lights system. The A.C.O. have released their 2010 regulations, which can be downloaded here. All contenders to the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010 will naturally have to comply. Series such as Le Mans Series, American Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Series are expected to update their own regulations to reflect A.C.O. changes. |
